You cannot pour from an empty cup

Parenting a child with big emotions, anxiety, ADHD, autism or a hard history can be exhausting. Holding Space is a supportive, practical group where parents and caregivers learn how co-regulation works, why calm is contagious, and how to respond to challenging behaviour in ways that build connection.

Each week combines a short, practical teaching with time to share, ask questions and practise. You will leave each session with something to try at home.

What we cover

  • What is happening in your child's brain and body during a meltdown
  • Co-regulation: helping your child calm by staying calm yourself
  • Understanding the needs behind behaviour
  • Practical routines for mornings, transitions and bedtime
  • Setting limits with warmth
  • Repair after hard moments
  • Looking after your own nervous system

Who the group is for

Parents, grandparents, foster and kinship caregivers and other adults raising children who struggle with emotional regulation or behaviour. No diagnosis is needed to join.
